Northern Territory Police are calling for witnesses in relation to an unlawful entry at a residence in Karama earlier this morning.
Just before 6am, three people unlawfully entered a property on Brazil Street armed with an edged weapon. The occupant was asleep in her bedroom when she was confronted by the group, who then assaulted her with the edged weapon, causing injuries to her lower body and fleeing the scene.
Police and St John Ambulance attended the scene, and the victim was taken to Royal Darwin Hospital.
Detectives from the Crime Division are investigating the incident and urging anyone who may have witnessed suspicious behaviour in the area around the time of the assault to contact police on 131 444. Please quote reference number 10427680.
