Police Targeting Unlicensed Off-Road Motorbikes

WA Police Force is currently conducting Operation Education, targeting the unlawful use of off-road motorbikes, across the state of Western Australia.

The unlawful use of off-road bikes is a prevalent issue within the community and this operation is intended to enhance pre-existing strategies already in place to target this nature of offending.

State Traffic officers have been gathering intelligence on the unlawful use of off-road bikes and will now be conducting search warrants targeting related offences, seizing involved off-road bikes and bringing offenders before the courts.

State Traffic Divisional Superintendent, Alyson Brett, says information from the community is vital when dealing with this issue.

“Unlicensed vehicles are hard to detect and at times, the riders are extremely hard to identify.

Members of the public may know where these bikes are coming from, and going to, within our communities.

We are appealing to these individuals, to contact Crime Stoppers, and provide that information to police, so we can investigate in a timely manner.”

Anyone with information regarding the unlawful use of off-road motorbikes is asked to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or report online at crimestopperswa.com.au.
