Police treating house fire as suspicious in Liverpool

Police are investigating the cause of a fire at a vacant home in Sydney’s south west overnight.

About 8.30pm (Wednesday 13 March 2019), emergency services were called to the corner of Goulburn and Lachlan Street, Liverpool, following reports of a home well alight.

Officers from Liverpool Police Area Command established a crime scene and are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Fire-fighters attended and extinguished the blaze. The home was totally destroyed.

No one was injured during the incident. The home is currently unoccupied.

The cause of the fire is yet to be determined; however, initial inquiries have led police to believe the fire is suspicious.

Investigations are continuing and anyone with information is urged to come forward.
