Police update 2: Death investigation at Preston

Detectives from the Gatton Criminal Investigation Branch investigating the death of a 28-year-old Toowoomba man in January, 2021 have today charged a man for interfering with a corpse.

The man’s body was located in bushland at Preston on January 7 and police determined his death to be non-suspicious, however it is further alleged his body was moved from a private residence in Toowoomba to this location on January 5 or 6.

The 37-year-old Cherry Creek man has been denied police bail and remains in custody to appear before the Toowoomba Magistrates Court tomorrow (November 28) on one count of misconduct with a corpse by interfering.

A 36-year-old Glenvale woman was charged with interfering with a corpse and 13 counts of supplying a dangerous drug in March, 2021, in relation to the matter.

The man and woman were known to the deceased man.
