Gold Coast Water Police have located a deceased man in wreckage off South Stradbroke Island.
Police believe the man to be the 52-year-old pilot from the Yak 52 aircraft that failed to return from a flight that departed a Coombabah airfield around 10am yesterday.
Police will continue to search for the remainder of the wreckage and the missing passenger.
The debris was found on the coastline of South Stradbroke Island around 5.30pm, June 5.
