A 77-year-old man has passed away in hospital after being found on the side of the road with serious injuries at Miami early yesterday morning (August 31).
Around 3.35am yesterday a member of the public located the elderly Miami man unconscious in a grassed area near the Gold Coast Highway.
Subsequent investigations by police yesterday identified a 34-year-old man who they believe could assist them with their enquiries.
A car was also seized by police yesterday at Burleigh Heads.
The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating and continues to appeal for any witnesses or dashcam in the area.
Police investigations are ongoing.
