Police update: Arrest at Gulliver, QLD

Police arrested a man in Vincent around 11.30am this morning following an earlier alleged attempted car theft.

Police successfully used a tyre deflation device on Charles Street and intercepted the vehicle on Cambridge Street and arrest the man.

Police launched an operation to locate the man following reports of an alleged attempted armed car theft at Aitkenvale.

Police will allege, around 8.30am this morning, the man, armed with a gun, unsuccessfully attempted to steal a vehicle at a petrol station in Arthur Street at Aitkenvale.

Further investigation has indicated, there is no complaint regarding a Black Commodore the man then took charge of, which contained two female passengers, around 8.50am, on Fulham Road at Gulliver.

The two females were located in the vehicle in Railway Estate around 10am. They were not physically injured.

The man fled the scene at Railway Estate and was located and arrested in Vincent when police used a tyre deflation device to intercept a vehicle he was driving.

Witnesses and anyone with relevant dashcam footage of the incident at a petrol station in Aitkenvale are urged to contact police.
