Police update: Homicide investigation at Morayfield

Police investigating a homicide at an address in Morayfield in January have charged an 18-year-old man with murder.

It will be alleged just after midnight on Sunday morning, January 28, the man shot a 29-year-old Deception Bay woman inside a Grant Road unit complex before calling Triple 0.

Upon arrival, emergency services located the woman with life-threatening injuries.

Despite efforts to assist her, the woman died at the scene.

The man was taken into custody at the property a short time later, and was today, February 6, charged with murder.

It will be alleged the pair were known to each other.

The 18-year-old Morayfield man has been charged with one count each of murder, unlawful possession of firearm used to commit indictable offence, possession of dangerous drugs, unlawful possession of motor vehicle, possession of category M weapon (knuckle dusters), possession of explosives (ammunition), and possession of suspected stolen property.

He has been remanded in custody and is due to appear at Caboolture Magistrates Court tomorrow, February 7.
