A man will face court today charged over the murder of a woman at a home in Sydney’s south-west overnight.
About 9.05pm yesterday (Monday 13 June 2022), a 59-year-old man attended Wetherill Park Police Station and spoke with officers where he was placed under arrest.
A short time later officers from Fairfield City Police Area Command attended a home on Christie Street, Prairiewood, where the body of a woman was found with stab wounds.
The woman is yet to be formally identified but is believed to be 62 years old and is known to the man.
A crime scene was established which was examined by specialist police.
A vehicle that was driven by the man to Wetherill Park Police Station has been seized.
The man was taken to Fairfield Police Station where he was charged with murder.
He has been refused bail to appear at Fairfield Local Court later today (Tuesday 14 June 2022).
