Police update: Murder charge at Miles

Detectives as part of Operation Victor Decade have charged a 26-year-old man with murder, in relation to the death of a 44-year-old man at Miles on March 21.

It will be alleged at approximately 9.45pm, an altercation has occurred outside a Hawkins Street address, in which a 44-year-old Miles man was struck before falling.

Emergency services attended and located the man unresponsive, before he was transported to Miles Hospital, where he was declared deceased.

The location was declared a crime scene, and Operation Victor Decade established to investigate the circumstances surrounding his death.

Following extensive investigations, detectives today took a 26-year-old Miles man into custody.

He has been charged with one count of murder, and is expected to appear before Toowoomba Magistrates Court on Monday, March 27.
