Police update: Robbery and unlawful use of motor vehicle at Mundingburra, QLD

Two teenage boys have been charged with an alleged robbery at Mundingburra yesterday and other alleged incidents at Aitkenvale and Thuringowa Central.

Around 7am yesterday, a woman was parking her car at an education facility on Thompson Street when she was confronted by three teenage males, one armed with a knife.

The youths allegedly demanded her car keys and then fled in her car, a blue Toyota Camry. The Camry was later located and stopped by police using a tyre deflation device on the Bruce Highway at Alligator Creek around 5.10pm yesterday.

A 15-year-old Kelso boy has been charged with armed robbery in company and unlawful use of a motor vehicle in relation to this matter. He was also charged with two counts of assault occasioning bodily harm while armed in relation to an alleged assault of two males around 11.30pm on October 2 at Arthur St, Aitkenvale. He has also been charged with attempted armed robbery after allegedly trying to steal a car around 12.10pm on October 5 in a car park at Sporting Drive, Thuringowa Central.

A 14-year-old West End male has been charged with armed robbery in company and unlawful use of a motor vehicle in relation to the Mundingburra incident. He has also been charged with attempted armed robbery after allegedly trying to steal a car around 12.10pm on October 5 in a car park at Sporting Drive, Thuringowa Central.

Both boys were denied police bail and are due to appear in the Townsville Children’s Court.
