Police update: Serious assault at Dutton Park, QLD

A 53-year-old Dutton Park man has been charged following investigations into the serious assault of an 80-year-old man at Dutton Park on August 24.

Police will allege around 5.20pm, they were called to a disturbance in a unit at Wahcumba Street involving two men known to each other.

It will further be alleged upon arrival, they located an elderly man with serious, multiple injuries to his jaw, head and back.

The man was transported to the Princess Alexandra Hospital for treatment to his injuries where he underwent surgery.

A 53-year-old man has been charged with one count each of grievous bodily harm, serious assault, common assault, break and enter, stealing and wilful damage.

He appeared in the Brisbane Magistrates Court on August 28 and will reappear on September 11.
