Detectives have charged a man with attempted murder after being called to a disturbance at Wilston earlier today.
Officers were called to an apartment complex on Kedron Brook Road around 6.30am where they located a 68-year-old local man with serious facial and upper body injuries.
He was transported to hospital where he remains in a critical condition.
It will be alleged a man broke into the unit complex assaulting the man when he was disturbed.
A 39-year-old Mitchelton man was arrested at the scene and has since been charged with attempted murder, with enter dwelling with intent by break (including while armed) and burglary.
He has been denied police bail and will appear in Brisbane Magistrates Court tomorrow, Saturday, May 8.
