Police update: Serious assault, Logan Village

Police have charged a 32-year-old Shailer Park man with attempted murder following the serious assault of a man in Logan on Sunday afternoon (November 14).

At 3.15pm, officers conducting a welfare check located an injured man at an address on Quinzeh Creek Road. The 53-year-old man was transported to the Princess Alexandra Hospital in a critical condition. He remains in a serious but stable condition.

Police will allege the man suffered significant injuries after being assaulted with a sharp instrument that caused a severe laceration to his throat, as well significant injuries to his chest, abdomen and head.

Investigations led to the 32-year-old man being charged with one count each of attempted murder, enter dwelling with intent and contravening order about information necessary to access information.

He is due to appear in Beenleigh Magistrates Court today (November 19).

Police investigations are ongoing.
