Police update: Stolen SUV found burnt out at Largs North

A stolen white Isuzu 4WD stolen during a robbery at Elizabeth yesterday afternoon was found burnt out at Largs North last night.

Just before 4pm Wednesday 2 September the victim, a 40-year-old Munno Para woman, was in the car park of the Elizabeth Shopping Centre when she was approached by two women who allegedly assaulted her before stealing her car keys and then her white 2019 Isuzu MUX 4WD, South Australia registration YY233B.

The two suspects are described as being in their early 20’s and wearing face-masks. One was wearing a grey hooded jumper and navy track pants. She was described as having a large build. The second woman was tall and slim wearing black track pants and a light blue hooded jumper.

The victim was taken to the Lyell McEwin Hospital for treatment after she was struck in the face during the robbery.

Just before 7.30pm the stolen 4WD was involved in a petrol theft from a service station on Henley Beach Road Underdale where $40 worth of fuel was stolen.

Just before 10pm last night ( Wednesday 2 September) police patrols were called to the car-park of the North Haven Football Club on Victoria Road after a car was set alight. On arrival police discovered it was the Isuzu 4WD stolen during a robbery at Elizabeth.

The vehicle was destroyed in the blaze, with witnesses reporting two teenage girls seen walking from the vehicle just after the fire. They were last seen heading north towards Kolapore Avenue.

The stolen 4WD has since been towed from the scene for forensic testing.
