Police update: Two dead after house fire in Glendenning

A man and woman have died following a house fire in the Mt Druitt area this morning.

About 4.45am today (Friday 3 June 2022), emergency services were called to Armitage Drive, Glendenning, after reports of a fire.

Officers attached to Mount Druitt Police Area Command attended, along with Fire and Rescue NSW, and found a single-storey house well alight.

A 74-year-old woman was pulled from the house with NSW Ambulance paramedics and police commencing CPR. Despite efforts to revive her, she died at the scene.

A 77-year-old man was located deceased inside the building.

Fire and Rescue NSW extinguished the blaze just before 6am.

A crime scene has been established which will be forensically examined by specialist police.

Investigations into the cause of the fire are underway, however police are not treating it as suspicious at this time.
