** UPDATE ** – Residents in Wooroloo are advised police no longer have immediate concerns for public safety, and residents can return to normal activity. Residents are however advised to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to Police on 131 444.
Background: Police are responding to a firearm incident near the intersection of Needham Road and Marauba Close, in Wooroloo.
A man has received a gunshot injury. St John WA and the RAC Rescue helicopter are responding to his injuries.
One man has been taken into custody and is assisting with the investigation. While inquiries are continuing into other people believed to be involved, a search of the area has been completed and there are no longer immediate concerns for public safety.
Any suspicious activity should be reported to police immediately on 131 444.
