Police update: Wounding and armed robbery at Morayfield

Police have charged a man and woman in relation to the robbery and attack of a security guard at Morayfield on November 3.

It will be alleged that shortly after 6am, a 55-year-old man was at the Morayfield shopping centre to conduct patrols when an unknown man approached his vehicle, which was parked in the carpark off Leda Boulevard.

The man opened the front passenger door and demanded the victim’s wallet. Following a brief struggle, the 55-year-old was stabbed once in the neck.

The offender fled on foot with the wallet.

The victim called emergency services and was transported to hospital with a non-life-threatening wound.

A 23-year-old Gailes man has been charged with attempted murder, armed robbery, entering a premises to commit an indictable offence, unlawful use of a motor vehicle and unlicensed driving.

He is due to appear in Richlands Magistrates Court today.

A 32-year-old woman from Ellen Grove was charged with entering a premises to commit an indictable offence, unlawful use of a motor vehicle, stealing, receiving tainted property, possession of dangerous drugs and unlicensed driving.

She has been remanded in custody and is due to re-appear in Beenleigh Magistrates Court on December 18.
