Police update: Wounding and GBH charges in Townsville City, QLD

A 39-year-old man has died as a result of injuries sustained in an alleged assault in Townsville City on June 9.

Emergency services were called to the Blackwood Street address just after 12.30am to reports a man had fallen from a balcony.

Upon arrival, a 39-year-old Kelso man was located with multiple stab wounds and life-threatening-injuries injuries from the fall.

He was transported in a critical condition to Townsville University Hospital where he died yesterday, June 15.

At the time of the alleged incident, a 51-year-old Kelso woman was charged with one count each of wounding (domestic violence offence) and grievous bodily harm (domestic violence offence).

Anyone with information or relevant CCTV or dashcam footage which may assist investigations is urged to come forward.

Investigations are continuing.
