Practitioners Recognised for Excellence in their Fields

Excellence in NT Health was recognised in Darwin this evening, with an awards ceremony at Parliament House for the exceptional work of NT Health staff.

The NT Health Excellence Awards highlight the outstanding achievements of individuals and teams across the Department of Health, Top End Health Service and Central Australia Health Service.

Awards across 10 categories were presented to practitioners who support the public health system in the delivery of high quality health care to all Territorians.

The peer-driven initiative sees nominations submitted by colleagues for outstanding contributions that showcase the outstanding work being delivered for the benefit of Territorians.

Winners recognised for excellence in their roles/teams in 2019:

  • Minister for Health Community Award – Keleasha Ogden
  • Chief Executive Everyday Hero Award – Nadine Tinsley
  • Leader of the Year – Dr Mahiban Thomas
  • Emerging Leader of the Year – Chantelle de Lastic
  • High Performing Team of the Year – Chaplains and Volunteer Chaplains, Allied Health, Royal Darwin and Palmerston Hospitals, Top End Health Service
  • Safety Leadership Award – Jabison Williams
  • VET Student of the Year – Sharna Alley
  • Positive Workplace Champion Award – Support Services Managers, Support Services, Royal Darwin and Palmerston Hospitals, Top End Health Service
  • Innovation Award – Intensive Care Unit / Ear Nose and Throat Department: Nasal Gastric Bridle Trial, ICU/ENT Department, Division of Surgical and Critical Care, Top End Health Service
  • Improving Patient Experience Award – Aboriginal Liaison Team, Aboriginal Support Services Unit, Alice Springs Hospital, Central Australia Health Service
