The Consumers Health Forum welcomes the agreement with governments that will assure the substantial personnel and resources of private hospitals play a big role in the fight against COVID-19.
“This is a powerful addition to the ranks that we need to defeat this virus,” the CEO of the Consumers Health Forum, Leanne Wells, said.
“It is also right and proper that the private hospitals which are such a central element of health care in Australia are part of a unified national effort.
“At a time when all hospitals are likely to be under extreme strain, the distinction between public and private patients should be put to one side to ensure all Australians have equitable access to the best available care,” Ms Wells said.
