Property Crime Arrestin Brisbane South

Police have arrested and charged a 17-year-old boy in relation to multiple alleged property crime offences in Brisbane since 14 February 2024.

It will be alleged that in the early hours of Friday, 23 February, the boy gained entry to a Newport address and stole a Lexus.

It will also be alleged that the boy was involved in the theft of a Ford Ranger and an Audi from Carina Heights, which occurred around 11.45pm on 24 February, and other property offences committed in Camp Hill and Mount Gravatt early on 26 February.

Following investigations by the Upper Mount Gravatt Criminal Investigation Branch and Tactical Crime Squad, a 17-year-old boy was located at a Chermside unit yesterday, 26 February.

He has been charged with 18 offences including seven counts of unlawful use of a motor vehicle, nine counts of enter dwelling/premises and commit and two counts of attempted enter dwelling with intent.

He has been denied police bail and is expected to appear at Brisbane Childrens Court today, 27 February.

Police are looking into links between these offences and similar property offences reported in the Hawthorn and Ascot areas from the weekend.

Investigations are continuing.
