The City of Swan manages almost $3 billion-dollars’ worth of assets, including roads, bridges, paths, parks, drainage, buildings, land and natural environment.

Council recently adopted the draft Asset Management Strategy which summarises the City’s asset position and translates high-level principles set through the policy into objectives.

The strategy is organised into a number of sections that:

  • explain the legislation and other strategic inputs and framework that governs asset management at the City of Swan
  • detail the current quantity, value and condition of all of our assets
  • look at the challenges and trends that must be considered to continue to sustainably manage our assets
  • propose a vision and objectives for asset management
  • assess which areas of asset management are most in need of improvement in order to reach meet these objectives
  • list the high level improvement activities that will address the areas requiring improvement, and
  • list the performance measures that will be used to gauge the success of our asset management activities.

The community is invited to provide feedback on the draft Asset Management Strategy. This feedback will be analysed and, where necessary, incorporated into the final Asset Management Strategy that will be provided to the Council for adoption.
