Public appeal after south east petrol thefts

Moorabbin police are appealing for public assistance following a series of petrol thefts in Melbourne’s south east last month.

Investigators have been told a woman attended an Oakleigh service station on Centre Road on 17 December about 5.20pm.

The woman filled up two jerry cans with petrol and drove away without paying.

In another incident, the same woman attended a Clayton South service station on Clayton Road on 21 December about 7.20pm.

The woman got out of the passenger seat and filled up two jerry cans with petrol before fleeing the scene without paying in a grey Subaru displaying false plates.

The woman is perceived to be Caucasian in appearance, aged in her 30s, with a solid build and blonde hair.

Police have released images of a woman they believe can assist them with their enquiries.
