Public safety concerns over proposed helicopter landing facility

City of Norwood Payneham & St Peters Mayor, Robert Bria, says his Council has major concerns regarding the public environment impacts of the helicopter landing facility proposed by Peregrine Corporation as part of its proposed Kensington headquarters and will provide a submission to the Department of Planning, Transport and Infrastructure.

In addition, the Council is concerned that the Public Environment Report which has been submitted by Peregrine does not adequately address risks to the public or property associated with the helicopter landing facility.

Mayor Robert Bria said that the public safety risks of the development are unacceptable and have not been adequately addressed.

“The proposed landing facility will have significant adverse impacts on the local amenity and community, in particular nearby residents who will be affected by noise from helicopters landing at the facility.”

The Council’s full submission will be available on the Council’s website on Thursday 5 March 2020.
