Queensland extends sensible and safe border arrangements for agriculture

Queensland’s border arrangements for agricultural industry and workers have been extended.

Minister for Agricultural Industry Development and Fisheries Mark Furner said arrangements to allow safe and appropriate movement of workers, equipment and farmers had been working well.

“Queensland’s Chief Health Officer put sensible border arrangements in place through a health direction and our feedback from industry is that they have been working very well,” Mr Furner said.

“This extended health direction once again gets the balance right, keeping Queenslanders safe from COVID-19 while ensuring Queensland’s essential agriculture industry can get on with what it does best.

“Queensland produce continues to feed Queenslanders, other Australians and the world while supporting tens of thousands of Queensland jobs.”The Chief Health Officer has extended the health direction on border arrangements for agriculture by another month.
