Police have made a quick arrest in Taylors Lakes this morning following an alleged attempted carjacking.
Police were called to a car park on the Melton Highway just after 9.30am.
Investigators have been told a man armed with a hand gun attempted to enter a car.
He fled to a nearby business where he locked himself in an office and was arrested a short time later.
An imitation hand gun was recovered near the scene.
The 42-year-old man of no fixed address remains on custody assisting police with their enquiries.
Investigators believe the man may have been involved in another incident that occurred at a nearby shopping centre shortly beforehand and are appealing for anyone with information to contact police.
