Residents can experience the rich culture, flavours and sounds of Ramadan when Ramadan On Q returns to the Campbelltown CBD on Friday 22 and Saturday 23 March.
Between 6pm and 11.30pm, Lithgow Street will be filled with a wide variety of food and dessert eateries along Lithgow Street, while children can get involved in the arts and activities pop-up, hosted by Campbelltown Arts Centre in Anzac Lane.
“Ramadan is a time of self-reflection and togetherness for Muslims and this event recognises an important time of year for so many in our community,” Mayor George Greiss said.
“We received great support for our Ramadan event last year where people from many different cultural backgrounds came together to learn about each other’s culture and enjoy a night out with great food and shared celebration,” Dr Greiss said.
“This year’s event stretches across two nights in the heart of our CBD and promises to be even bigger than last year,” he said.
Minister for Multiculturalism Steve Kamper said it was great to see the return of the festival after it was positively received by the wider community last year.
“Ramadan on Q is an event not to be missed. I wish Campbelltown Council and the community every success with the festival again in 2024,” Mr Kamper said.
“Ramadan is an important time for the Muslim community. Festivals like Ramadan on Q provide a fantastic opportunity for the Muslim community to come together, but also allow for them to showcase their culture for the wider community to learn, and to appreciate. I would encourage everyone to take this opportunity, don’t miss out.”
Private, gendered prayer spaces will be available throughout the event on both nights.
