Two inmates have been charged by Strike Force Raptor over an alleged affray at the High Risk Management Correctional Centre last year.
Officers from The Hume Police District were contacted following reports of an affray between two inmates at the Goulburn facility on Sunday 28 October 2018.
Police were told the men – aged 26 and 40 – were in the rear yard and became engaged in a heated discussion about 11am.
The men then allegedly began physically fighting and threw punches at each other until being separated and detained by Corrective Services NSW officers.
Both men were seen by medical staff but refused treatment.
Local police commenced inquiries, before referring the matter to the Criminal Groups Squad’s Strike Force Raptor South.
Following extensive investigations, officers from Raptor South charged the men by way of a Future Court Attendance Notice for affray on Monday (31 December 2018).
The men remain in custody and are due to appear at Goulburn Local Court on 13 February 2019.
