Regional Towards 2030 Forums check progress on $100b goal

The National Farmers Federation
is today announcing the launch of the Towards 2030 Forum Series
supported by Telstra. Held in partnership with state farming organisations,
this series will see one-day forums held in each state and territory.

Each forum will bring together
farming and regional leaders to take stock of progress towards the NFF’s goal
of reaching $100 billion in farmgate output by 2030. The series will feature
keynote presentations from a broad range of experts, policy makers, politicians
and producers who are at the cutting edge of growing Australian agriculture and
contributing to NFF’s $100 billion goal.

In announcing the Towards 2030
Forum Series, NFF President, Fiona Simson said it was an important
opportunity to reflect on industry’s progress to date.

“The process to establish our 2030
Roadmap started in the regions 4 years ago – bringing together farmers and
industry experts to shape our industry vision. The Towards 2030 Forum Series
is an opportunity to come back together, hear the latest from those people
leading the charge, and take stock of our progress”.

“The series is a unique
opportunity to hear from the innovators, policymakers and industry leaders
working to accomplish our 2030 Roadmap ambitions,” Ms Simson said.

Telstra Head of Rural and
Regional Affairs, Ben Gursansky, said supporting the Towards 2030 Forum Series
was part of Telstra’s ongoing support for the farm sector’s growth
ambitions.

“Telstra has been on the 2030 journey
with NFF and its members since 2018, and we’re looking forward to continuing
this conversation about the industry’s future across Australia in the coming
months,” Mr Gursansky said.
