Relief Centres

Bairnsdale: Bairnsdale City Oval, MacArthur Street (off Dalmahoy Street, south of train line). Open 24 hours.

Sale: Baptist Church, cnr Princes Highway and Cochranes Road (follow Relief Centre signs on highway)

Morwell: Morwell Recreation Reserve, Travers Street

Assembly Areas

These locations have been established in conjunction with local communities. The assembly areas do not have the range of services expected at a relief centre.

They provide an place where the community can gather and, where available, seek information.

* Omeo Recreation Reserve (community led).

* Orbost Cricket Club, Nicholson Street.

* Mallacoota Community Hall (information and assembly area)

* Lakes Entrance Service Centre (information and assembly area, 8am-5pm)

Details may change at short notice.

Large animals can also be taken to the East Gippsland Livestock Exchange, at 11 Saleyards Rd, Bairnsdale. The Sale Showgrounds is also available.

The best possible scenario is always relocating to the homes of family or friends, but sometimes that isn’t possible.

These centres are being run by Council staff and also have representatives from the Department of Health and Human Services, the Red Cross, Victoria Police and the Salvation Army.
