The deadline for feedback on the proposed renaming of the electorate of Franklin is tomorrow at 11:59pm.
The augmented Electoral Commission (the independent panel conducting the redistribution) today acknowledged recent public commentary regarding the proposed renaming of the reconfigured electorate of Franklin and the redistribution’s consultation process.
Panel member – and Electoral Commissioner – Jeff Pope said that engagement through the five phases of consultation so far has been instructive and encouraged continued engagement.
“The redistribution committee was quite deliberate – and specific – when calling for name suggestions rather than announcing a proposed name as part of February’s proposal,” Mr Pope said.
