Police have renewed their appeal for information as part of an ongoing investigation into a house fire at Lake Munmorah last year, where the body of a woman was located.
About 10.25am on Friday 8 September 2023, emergency services were called to Clarence Street following reports of a house fire.
Officers from Tuggerah Lakes Police District arrived to find a house well alight.
The fire was extinguished by firefighters from NSW RFS and Fire and Rescue NSW.
Following a search of the home, the body of a woman was located.
She has since been formally identified as 84-year-old Robyn Hough.
Two dogs were also located deceased within the home.
A crime scene was established, and investigations commenced under Strike Force Metzler led by Tuggerah Lakes Detectives and assisted by the State Crime Command’s Arson Squad.
As part of ongoing inquiries, the scene of the fire was forensically re-examined by specialist police today.
As a result, several further items of interest were seized by police to be examined.
