Skills and TAFE Minister Amber-Jade Sanderson has today announced a series of appointments and reappointments to TAFE Governing Councils across Western Australia, reinforcing leadership and governance across the vocational education and training sector.
Leadership changes across the sector will take effect from 1 July, including the appointment of new Governing Council Chairs at three WA TAFE colleges:
- Amanda Reid as Governing Council Chair at North Metropolitan TAFE;
- Elizabeth (Libby) Lyons as Governing Council Chair at South Metropolitan TAFE; and
- James (Jim) Walker as Governing Council Chair at Central Regional TAFE.
The Cook Labor Government acknowledges the leadership and service of outgoing Chairs Mara West (North Metropolitan TAFE), Deborah Hamblin (South Metropolitan TAFE), and
Christine Rafanelli (Central Regional TAFE).
Governing Councils are appointed by government to lead TAFE colleges on behalf of the State.
Through strong leadership and clear strategic direction, they ensure TAFE colleges are responsive, high-performing, and focused on WA’s workforce needs now and into the future.
