Researchers at MMK awarded grants by the Swedish Cancer Society

Congratulations to the 5 researchers at the Department of Molecular Medicine and Surgery who have been awarded research grants from the Swedish Cancer Society in the latest call on November 10, 2025.

Olof Akre , Urology, receives SEK 3 000 000, project title “ProMort: a Program for prediction of Mortality in prostate cancer”.

Christel Hedman , Endocrine surgery, receives SEK 3 000 000, project title “Medications at the end of life in metastatic cancer – are we stopping it too late?”.

Annika Lindblom , Clinical genetics, receives SEK 1 000 000, project title “ProMort: a Program for prediction of Mortality in prostate cancer”.

Richard Rosenquist Brandell , Clinical genetics, receives SEK 7 500 000, project title “Charting the complex molecular landscape in chronic lymphocytic leukemia – the path towards precision medicine”. In addition, Richard Rosenquist Brandell is awarded SEK 750 000 for the Swedish CLL group.

Shaohua Xie , Upper GI Surgery, receives SEK 1 200 000 , project title “Advancing Tailored Prevention and Early Detection of Oesophageal Cancer”.
