A big congratulations is in order!
University of Southern Queensland’s commitment to career development in the community culminated in international awards for Dr Jennifer Luke and Professor Peter McIlveen.
Professor McIlveen was awarded the lifetime achievement award by the Asia Pacific Career Development Association in an international ceremony on May 25.
Professor McIlveen leads University of Southern Queensland’s Australian Collaboratory for Career Employability & Learning for Living (ACCELL) Research team.
He was recognised for contributions to the field of career development through his mentoring work with graduate students, scholarship and advocacy for the field.
The ACCELL research team takes an interdisciplinary approach to understanding individual engagement in the workplace.
The association also awarded Dr Luke the outstanding career practitioner award, recognising her contribution to the community, retired workers and public communication of career development.
Dr Luke’s research has previously focused on utilising the knowledge of retired workers to mentor others in the workplace.
She is now focusing on wellbeing and employability within regional, rural and remote communities as a Research Fellow of the Southern Queensland Northern New South Wales (SQNNSW) Innovation Hub.
The Hub is led by University of Southern Queensland as part of a flagship program of the Federal Government’s Future Drought Fund.
