From 31 July, Resources Victoria will be the overarching entity within the Victorian Government responsible for important activities such policy development and reform, regulatory approval coordination, the Geological Survey of Victoria and the Earth Resources Regulator.
Creating Resources Victoria helps signal the importance of our minerals and quarry sectors in helping the state grow and transition. Resources Victoria will help drive increases in the mineral and quarry materials we all need for a vibrant state-wide economy and to support the construction sector, new infrastructure and the renewable energy transition.
Reforms will continue to help to strike the right balance between supporting the resources industry to grow while protecting the environment and local communities.
