Response to Disability Royal Commission Final Report

Business Council of Australia

Business acknowledges today’s report handed down by the Disability Royal Commission and the important work it has undertaken to address and recommend changes to improve the lives of people with disability, Business Council chief executive Bran Black said.

“As a society, and as major businesses and employers, we know that we are all better off when we are inclusive and we also know the important contribution everyone in the community can make.

“We know from our Report on improving employment outcomes for people with disability, that BCA members want to recruit more people with disability in their workforces.

“We must do better in translating these aspirations into actions to enable a meaningful increase in employment outcomes.

“This is why we are committed to our work in partnership with the Australian Network on Disability and Dylan Alcott’s Get Skilled Access to support our members to improve employment and career advancement outcomes for people with disability.

“The Business Council and its members are driven to remove the barriers for people with disability and ensure that all Australians have access to opportunities in our workplaces.
