Ride-share driver charged with alleged sexual assault, NSW

A man will face court today after a woman was allegedly sexually assaulted by a ride-share driver in Sydney’s west at the weekend.

About 11.25pm on Saturday 2 March 2019, a 30-year-old woman entered a ride-share vehicle outside a licenced premises on Commercial Road, Rouse Hill.

The 50-year-old male driver stopped in South Street, Marsden Park, and allegedly sexually assaulted the woman, before driving to her Penrith home.

The woman attended Penrith Police Station about 11.30am (Sunday 3 March 2019) and reported the incident.

Following inquiries, officers from Nepean Police Area Command attended a home on William Street, Granville, where they arrested a 50-year-old man and took him to Parramatta Police Station.

He was charged with sexual intercourse without consent (x2), and refused bail to appear at Parramatta Local Court today (Monday 4 March 2019).
