Roadside Robbery Investigation – NW Coastal Highway

Geraldton Detectives are seeking information regarding a robbery in a parking bay area on the side of North West Coastal Highway, about 5km south of the Billabong Roadhouse, on Friday 18 March 2022.
About 7:00am yesterday, Saturday 19 March 2022, a 20-year-old woman attended Jurien Bay Police Station and reported the robbery/assault incident that occurred the night before. Sometime between 5:00pm and 7:30pm on Friday evening the woman was in a parking area along North West Coastal Highway, about 5km south of the Billabong Roadhouse, when she was approached by a man who had been driving behind her in what is believed to be a silver Holden Colorado ute or similar.
The woman reported she was physically assaulted and it is believed some property was stolen. She received minor abrasion injuries as a result of the incident.
Geraldton Detectives are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident and would like to speak to a truck driver who is believed to have stopped and assisted the woman in the early hours of yesterday morning. Detectives would also like to speak to anyone who saw, or who has dash-cam vision of, a white Holden Colorado ute with a black bulbar and alloy tray being driven on the highway between 3:00pm and 9:00pm on Friday evening/night.
