A 19-year-old man has been charged following an alleged string of offences in Warwick and Killarney.
Just before 11pm on Friday (June 11) a 55-year-old woman allegedly disturbed a man stealing her white Triton ute from a Canning Street home in Warwick.
Police allege about 7am, the 19-year-old man was disturbed in the laundry of an Albert Street house by a 66-year-old woman, damaging a door.
The man was allegedly seen to force entry into a Bell Place address shortly after 8am, where he was disturbed by an 85-year-old woman whereupon he fled on foot.
About 9.30am, a 31-year-old woman allegedly awoke to the man attempting to force entry to her home by kicking a door. She watched the man flee in a white Triton ute.
The 19-year-old is also alleged to have stolen a phone and other property from a house on Acacia Avenue, later discarding the property at a Wantley Street address.
Around 1.30pm yesterday (June 12) police will allege the 19-year-old man forced his way into a Mount Tabor Road address, demanding cash from a 75-year-old male resident.
The 19-year old allegedly assaulted the 75-year-old man, attacking him with a knife before fleeing in the ute.
The 75-year-old suffered a non-life-threatening cut to his chin.
Police attempted to intercept the ute on Ailanthus Street, Killarney, however, the driver allegedly sped off along Willow Street driving dangerously around Killarney.
A short time later, following a short pursuit, police deployed a tyre deflation device and the ute came to a stop in Willow Street and the man was taken into custody.
He was subsequently charged with three counts of break and enter, one count each of attempted break and enter, unlawful use of a motor vehicle, attempted armed robbery, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, unlicensed driving, stealing, trespass and wounding.
He is due to appear in the Warwick Magistrate’s Court tomorrow (June 14). He will remain in custody until his appearance in court.
Police are seeking witnesses or anyone with dash cam vision to come forward.
