Round 2 Community Grants Information Sessions and Workshops

One of the ways Latrobe City Council supports community organisations is through the annual Community Grants program. This program provides funding to support the recreational, social and cultural needs of the Latrobe City community.

Latrobe City Council’s Community Grant Program – Round 2 will open on Monday 29 January 2024 and close on Monday 4 March 2024. There are six Community Grant streams open for application: Capital Works – Minor, Capital Works – Major, Community Wellbeing, Community Events – Minor, Community Events – Major and Community Essentials – Quick Response Grant.

To help community members complete the grant application process, Council is holding free Community Grants Information Sessions in January and delivering Community Grant Writing Workshop Training in February.

The Community Grant information sessions are an opportunity for attendees to learn about the program and ask specific questions. They will focus on available streams, funding, eligibility, and the application process.

Following these information sessions, the Community Grant Writing Workshop Training sessions will help attendees refine and write their applications for Council’s program and other funding opportunities. They will focus on providing a practical framework for writing a clear, succinct grant application that aligns with the funder’s needs.

Mayor of Latrobe City Council, Councillor Darren Howe recommends that anyone interested in submitting a Round 2 grant application should consider attending the information and training sessions to enhance their understanding of the program.

“These valuable sessions can help clubs and community groups to improve their knowledge and skills about the grant program as well as submit an application that meets the assessment criteria.

“There are limited funds available for grants, and it is up to Council to ensure funds are being allocated where they will be most impactful. We greatly appreciate the community’s effort with their applications and believe these sessions will be rewarding for all involved.”
