We’re working with the Royal Avenue Tennis Centre (RATC) to install 21 x 8 metre light poles with LED lights (approx. 500lux) on the 6 courts situated closest to the clubhouse. Commencing in May, works will take up to 6 weeks (weather permitting).
The improved lighting will offer more flexibility, safer play during twilight hours and consistency for year-round operating times with winter timing extending from 5pm to 10pm and aligning with summer operating hours.
In 2024, Council supported the club’s successful Department of Jobs, Skills, Industry and Region – Community Sport and Recreation Projects Fund grant application ($150,000). The club is funding the balance of the cost with Council supporting the upgrade’s project management.
