Wednesday 2 March 2022 – A 39-year-old woman from Adelaide’s north-eastern suburbs is facing 20 charges of ill-treatment of an animal in relation to more than 60 animals, including 17 cats and a mix of rabbits, pigeons, cockatoos, lorikeets, corellas, magpies, galahs, possums, a water dragon lizard, puppies, canaries, a duck and an owl. All were allegedly being kept in unsanitary and squalid conditions. The woman is due to face the Elizabeth Magistrates Court next month. The woman’s former husband is facing the same charges and is due in court on a later date.

Monday 7 March 2022 – A woman from Adelaide’s western suburbs is facing three counts of ill-treatment of an animal in relation to a dog, found emaciated and deceased in a backyard, and a cat and a kitten found inside a unit in allegedly squalid living conditions. She is due in the Port Adelaide Magistrates Court next month.

Wednesday 9 March 2022 – A 48-year-old woman from Adelaide’s western suburbs is due to face the Port Adelaide Magistrates Court next month charged with alleged failure to provide a dog with appropriate and adequate food and water, and a further aggravated cruelty charge of being reckless about causing serious harm to the dog. After being seized by SA Police officers, the dog was euthanased by a vet due to its extremely emaciated condition.

Friday 11 March 2022 – A northern suburbs couple aged in their mid-20s is due to appear in the Elizabeth Magistrates Court next month on charges relating to their alleged failure to provide appropriate and adequate food to two Siberian Huskies, one of which was found deceased and the other in a state of extreme emaciation.

Tuesday 15 March 2022 – A 59-year-old man is due to appear in the Elizabeth Magistrates Court next month to face six charges of ill-treatment of an animal in relation to three dogs. One of the dogs, a Rottweiler, was found injured and in critical condition and was humanely euthanased by a vet.

Wednesday 16 March 2022 – A woman and her daughter will appear in the Murray Bridge Magistrates Court in relation to their alleged neglect and underfeeding of six horses on a property in the Mid-Murray region.

Wednesday 23 March 2022 – A 31-year-old man is due to face cruelty charges in the Christies Beach Magistrates Court next month for allegedly forcing a female dog (that had recently given birth) to run a significant distance while riding his bike, resulting in alleged harm to the dog. The man is also alleged to have physically assaulted the dog, causing it further harm.
