A new survey is set to gauge community satisfaction with Lake Macquarie City Council services and activities.

The Community Satisfaction Survey will ask 600 residents over the next two weeks what their take is on everything from waste collection to swimming pools, and from city presentation to public toilet cleaning.

Head of Communications and Corporate Strategy Jenni Donaldson said independent researcher Taverner Research Group would conduct the survey as part of Council’s ongoing drive for improvement.

“We are always striving for excellence in everything we do,” she said.

“The Community Satisfaction Survey helps us understand how we’re going, whether we’re headed in the right direction, and whether there are things that need more attention.”

Participants will respond to questions covering Council’s seven community values:

  • Unique landscape
  • Lifestyle and wellbeing
  • Mobility and accessibility
  • Diverse economy
  • Connected communities
  • Creativity
  • Shared decision-making

Council’s most recent Community Satisfaction Survey was conducted in 2021, with 97 per cent of residents rating their lifestyle as “good”, “very good” or “excellent”.

More than 90 per cent of residents were at least somewhat satisfied with Council’s performance.

Results of this year’s survey are expected to be available in June.
