Scams Awareness Week

Scams Awareness Week runs from 17-21 August. This year’s campaign will focus on scams and identity theft. See AIC related papers.

The Scams Awareness Network (SAN), formerly the Australasian Consumer Fraud Taskforce, is made up of government regulatory agencies and departments in Australia and New Zealand that work alongside private sector, community and non-government partners to raise awareness about scams and disrupt them.

Scams are constantly evolving and our growing use and reliance on technology provides scammers more opportunities to trick you into giving away your valuable personal information. Scammers can use your personal information to steal your identity for personal and financial gain.

The AIC has produced a significant number of fraud related publications over a number of years, including in the area of online fraud and victims of fraud.
