Search and rescue: Cedar Creek in Moreton, QLD

A search and rescue will continue at first light for a man missing in the vicinity of Cedar Creek in Brisbane’s Moreton area.

Just before 8pm on Wednesday May 18 the man’s swimming companions raised the alarm with a local landholder nearby Cedar Creek after they lost contact with a 29-year-old Aspley man who came into trouble making his way back to the carpark.

The two women heard the man’s calls for help but contact was lost. They were not physically injured and assisted police with their enquiries.

Police and emergency services commenced a surface and aerial search of the creek, utilising swift water rescue crews and Polair, however the man was not located.

Police are asking local landholders to check their properties for the man, who may have become disoriented in the dark. Passing motorists who may have seen the man or given him a lift are urged to come forward.
