Second man charged after St Albans firearms incident

Police have charged a second person following a firearms incident in St Albans on 28 August.

Investigators have been told there was an altercation between three people near a fast-food restaurant on St Albans Road about 8.45am.

A firearm was discharged and the one shot fired hit a blue Holden Commodore.

A man and woman allegedly involved in the altercation fled in the Commodore.

The Commodore was involved in a collision with a marked police vehicle and the man and woman allegedly fled the scene.

They were arrested a short time later.

The Brooklyn man was charged on 28 August with reckless conduct endangering life and has been remanded to appear at Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on 6 September.

A 21-year-old woman from Werribee was released pending further enquires.

A 40-year-old Point Cook man was arrested and has been charged with discharge firearm into vehicle, conduct endangering life and other firearm offences.

He has been remanded to appear in Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on 9 December.
