Second person charged over armed robbery at Mittagong, NSW

A woman will face court today charged over the alleged armed robbery of a licensed club in the Southern Highlands last weekend.

About 1pm on Saturday 22 August 2020, a man entered the club on Bessmer Street, Mittagong, and allegedly threatened staff with a firearm, demanding money.

The armed man fled with cash and was seen leaving in a vehicle.

Officers from The Hume Police District attended, and with the assistance of the State Crime Command’s Robbery and Serious Crime Squad established Strike Force Keyne to investigate the robbery.

A 26-year-old man was charged on Saturday (29 August 2020), and he is next due to appear at Moss Vale Local Court on Tuesday 20 October 2020.

Following inquires, investigators from the Robbery and Serious Crime Squad arrested a 39-year-old woman at a Campbelltown home about 6pm yesterday (Monday 31 August 2020.

She was taken to Campbelltown Police Station and charged with robbery while armed with dangerous weapon.

Police will allege in court that the woman was driving the vehicle.

She has been refused bail to appear at Campbelltown Local Court today (Tuesday 1 September 2020).
