The Security Council meets today for its regular monthly briefing on the situation in the Middle East, including the Palestinian question. Sigrid Kaag, the Special Coordinator for the Middle East Peace Process and Personal Representative of the Secretary-General to the Palestine Liberation Organization and the Palestinian Authority ad interim is scheduled to brief the 15-member organ, as is a civil society representative.
